I am delighted to be able to introduce you to my new partner, Dr Catriona McNeil. From now on, Dr McNeil will be sharing my practice at Westmead and Westmead Private Hospitals. I am extremely fortunate to have persuaded Dr McNeil to join me. She turned down overtures from three other major Sydney cancer centres to come to Westmead. Dr McNeil trained with us at Westmead before undertaking a PhD in breast cancer research which she has now successfully completed. This experience gives her a depth of fresh understanding about the very latest in current developments in cancer management. Many of you will already know her from her long association with my practice as a locum during her research project. She has the great distinction of having been appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Medicine (Medical Oncology) to the University of Sydney with full admitting rights at Westmead Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital. She is a Consultant Medical Oncologist to the NSW Breast Cancer Institute and the Sydney Melanoma Unit. Dr McNeil and I are committed to working closely in partnership according to agreed protocols to ensure that there are no interruptions to your care. We plan, as far as possible, to cover each other during the essential times when we have other professional commitments or annual leave with our families. This, I’m sure you’ll agree, is also essential to our being able to optimize the care that we deliver to you. In order for this to happen it is important that Dr McNeil gets to know as many of you as possible and sees you in consultation. I would be deeply grateful if you would embrace and welcome her as my valued partner. I would not have taken on a partner in whom I did not have utmost trust and confidence and I am sure you will understand why as soon as you meet her! If you get the chance, please accept the offer of seeing Dr McNeil for your next consultation. Best wishes, Professor Rick Kefford. | Professor Kefford | Disclaimer | Dr Catriona McNeil | | Return Home | New Patients | Services and Clinics | Useful Links | Contact Us | Download Page | Cancer Information | |
